Electric Mowing Lesson for Ladies in the Club

Published Thu 02 May 2024

The Club were recently successful in obtaining $7,500 under the Active Women's & Girls Grant.  This grant was offered by the  Department of Tourism, Innovation and Sport, Queensland Government to encourage greater participation opportunities for women & girls within clubs and organisations.

To encourage our female members involvement, we purchased an electric self-propelled mower to maintain the surrounds.  Charlie, with a lot of patience, conducted a training session for those interested in learning to use the new mower.  Elli, our President along with others that attended, found the mower very easy to use and I believe we all feel confident that we can step in to help when needed.

The next item we are looking to purchase will be a commercial dishwasher, which we are in the process of getting quotes etc.  It will hopefully be installed before our Mallets Sport of the Broadwater, so that cleaning up dishes will be much quicker and easier.
