Gabby and Mary AGAIN cement their position as the top 2 women golf croquet players in Queensland. We’re extremely fortunate that they are Southport members.

Gabby entered the competition as the top seed and went through day 1 without dropping a match. Between them, they only lost 1 game over 13 matches on the first day. Day 2 was played in very hot and humid conditions as whilst tough, they both made it through to the championship round where all matches become best of 3 games.

Luckily the quarterfinals saw them in separate blocks where they both made it through to their respective semi finals and then advancing into an “all Southport” final.

This couldn’t have been any more closer and with a score line of 6/7, 7/5 and 7/4, the winner, for the 5th year in a row, was Mary. No-one, male or female, has ever achieved this.

We are all immensely proud of their efforts. It is a just reward for the efforts that both these members put in.
